Coded and decoded copies of telegrams relating to confidential matters handled by U.S. attorneys. Included is information concerning evidence in court cases; propaganda and security matters; activities of the Japanese in Hawaii before December 7, 1941, and in the Marshall Islands during World War II; pro-German sympathizers; and administrative problems of the U.S. attorneys. Accompanying the telegrams are copies of a Department codebook used in 1916 and the codebook used during the period of the telegrams.
